Mrs. Sylvia McAllister, 93 of St. Pauls, NC peacefully passed on Friday, July 2, 2021. Graveside services will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11:00 am at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Hwy. 20 West, St. Pauls, NC. Viewing will be Friday 1-6 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
On Friday, July 2, 2021, Sylvia Jaudon McAllister was called home to be with the Lord. Sylvia was born on August 15, 1927 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to Carter and Eva Jaudon.
She was a faithful piano player, starting in 1945 until 2000 for various churches such as East End Baptist Tabernacle Church for 45 years, Westend Tabernacle CME for six years, Mars Hills Presbyterian Church 20 years, First Baptist Church ten years. She was gracious deaconess for many years as well as a Teacher's Assistant. She loved caring for other and helping other especially her family, family was very important to her.
Sylvia loved talking to her sister, Barbara every night. She was full of laughter when they spoke to each other. She always said Barbara could really talk and she couldn't get a word in edge wise not knowing she talked more than Aunt Barbara. But it was a joy to hear them talk, after talking she would be ready for her two banana popsicles. Which she enjoy while doing puzzles out of the paper. God gave her 93 years to do what he put her here for to tune everyone to the sound of God's music, to bring happiness ,and peace among the young and old in harmony. This Sylvia did with all the choirs she played for.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Sam McAllister of 48 years; three sisters and two brothers.
Left to cherish her memories: three daughters; Mrs. Carol Kelly of St. Pauls, North Carolina, Mrs. Doris Jones (Moses), Naugatuck, Connecticut and Miss Anita McAllister, Bridgeport, Connecticut; two sons: Mr. Samuel McAllister (Elaine) and George McAllister (Margie), Bridgeport, Connecticut; one sister, Barbara Whiting of Bridgeport, Connecticut; ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; a very special nephew, Kevin Brown (Glenda) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
