Mr. Johnie Stephens, 74 of St. Pauls peacefully passed on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. Graveside service will be Sunday, January 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Shilod Cemetery, McRainey Rd., St. Pauls, NC.
Johnie Elwood Stephens was born on January 14, 1946 to the late Roscoe and Rosetta Stephens. He departed his life at his home in St. Pauls, NC.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Doris Stephens, his parents, two sisters; Annie Brown and Minnie Turnage and a sister-in-law.
He graduated from Eastside High School in St. Pauls, NC. He was employed with BRS Inc. for 20 years and retired in 2005.
Johnie was united in marriage to Doris Berena Salmond Stephens in Patterson, NJ, then later moved to St. Pauls, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, David Stephens of St. Pauls, one daughter, Cheryl Stephens of St. Pauls, one granddaughter; D'Asia Stephens of St. Pauls, NC; two brothers; George Stephens (Alella) of Patterson, NJ and Henry Lee Stephens (Grace) of St. Pauls, NC, two sisters; Betty Jackson (Lonnie) of Fayetteville, NC and Willie Mae Allen (Sterling)of Patterson, NJ and a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
