John Davis Obituary

Mr. John D. Davis, 64 of Red Springs, NC peacefully passed on Saturday, November 14, 2020.  Services will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2020 at the St. Joseph Miracle Revival Center,  4657 Daniel McLeod Road,  Red Springs,  N.C. 28377.  Visitation and viewing will be on Wednesday from 12 to 1:00pm at St. Joseph Miracle Revival Center followed by the funeral service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. John Dee Davis, the beloved son of the late Isaiah Davis and the late Minnie P. Davis was born December 14, 1955 in Scotland County, North Carolina.  John Dee Davis departed his life to be with his Savoir on November 14, 2020.  He has six sisters and three brothers, of which, he was preceded in death by his sister Caroline Davis.

He was a member of St. Joseph's senior ministries, where he recommitted himself to Christ in 2020.

Following his graduation from Red Springs High School, John D. and his wife, Gwendolyn McKoy Davis were joined in Holy Matrimony on July 1, 1979.  Following the completion of his military duties in the U.S. Army; he and his wife decided to start a family, where they had one daughter, Gwendale Shawnae Davis (McDaniel) and one son, Jonathan Donte Davis.  After working for many years, he retired from Prestage Foods located in St. Pauls, North Carolina.

John D. was a very personable individual who enjoyed cooking, family time, and sitting on the passenger side of the car engaging in serious and humorous conversations with his family and friends.

As a beloved husband, father, brother, cousin and friend, John D's legacy remains alive through his wife, Gwendolyn Davis; one daughter, Gwendale S, McDaniel one son, Jonathan D. Davis; his beloved grandchildren, Ashanti Desire McDaniel and Avion Dash McDaniel (Anthony McDaniel), and Ja'ohn Donte Davis (Nekia Shaw); his brothers, sisters, uncle, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
