Betty Lucille (Jennings) McNeil

Mrs. Betty Lucille Jennings McNeill, 67 peacefully passed on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.  Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2019, 1:00 pm at Little Marsh Chapel AME Zion Church, 301 N. Martin Luther King Dr., St. Pauls, NC. Visitation: Friday, July 5, 2019, 1-6 pm.  Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery, St. Pauls, NC. Pastor: Rev. Paul Sewell, Officiating.  The family will receive family and friends at 220 Vermilion Dr., Parkton, NC  28371.

Betty Lucille McNeil, daughter of the late James and Lucille Jennings, was born on December 8, 1951 in Dalzell, South Carolina.

She graduated in 1971 from Hillcrest High School in South Carolina.  She was a member of Little Marsh Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served on numerous committees throughout her years.

The light of Betty's life was her family.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and kept the family together.  She was the backbone of the McNeil family.

She is preceded in death by:  her parents; three siblings, Clarence "Big Boy" Jennings, James "Jimmy" Jennings and Diane Cotton.

She leaves to cherish her memories:  her husband, Johnny McNeil united in Holy Matrimony on October 9, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland; seven children, Jasmine, Tyrone and Destiny all of the home; four sons, Eric (Kristen) of Hope Mills, NC, Timothy (Diana) of McDonough, GA, Levon (Patrice) and Terrance (Jerrica) of St. Pauls, NC; seventeen wonderful grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, BJ Jennings of Dalzell, SC and Joseph Jennings (Charlene) of Baltimore, MD; sisters, Barbara "Sue" Jennings and Margurite McNeill both of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Virginia Jennings of Philadelphia, PA; a special brother, Moses (Evelyn) of Sumter, SC; best friend, Marva Currie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
