Arthur B. Grimes was born to the late Mr. Clifford Grimes, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ressell Grimes. After a period of illness, he departed from this earthly journey on March 5, 2024. He was the fifth child of seven children. Three siblings preceded him in death: John Grimes, Callie Grimes and Dorothy Murphy.
Arthur met and married his high school sweetheart, Minnie Grimes and to this union four children were born.
He was educated in the Bladen County Schools and graduated from the Bladen County Schools, Elizabethtown, North Carolina. He then started working at Kelly Springfield Tire Company, Fayetteville, North Carolina for 34 years.
Arthur attended Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church and Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Mrs. Minnie Grimes of Tar Heel, North Carolina; two daughters, Latissue Grimes (Andre) of Covington, Georgia and Capricia Grimes of Lumberton, North Carolina; two sons,Tony Grimes (Audra) of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Arthur Grimes, Jr. (Kristy) of Tar Heel, North Carolina; eleven precious grandchildren, TaShyrra, Rai Juan, DeQuintate, Montrell, DeCarius, Akira, DoMani, Jordan, Tony, Tony and Jasmine; seven great grandchildren, Antonio, Janiyah, Amirah, Tristan, Atlas, Elliana and Tony III; three brothers, William Grimes (Ernestine) of Tar Heel, Earnest Grimes of Seattle, Washington and Clifford Grimes, Jr. of Tar Heel, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Clyde Whitted; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine Grimes and Lydia Grimes; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
