On May 27, 2023, Addie Mae passed peacefully. She was born to the late Joseph (Pete) and Mattie P. Robinson. She was the oldest of nine siblings. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Addie graduated from East Side High School. She continued her education at Durham Business College, where she received her degree in Business Administration. After college she worked for Fayetteville State University and the State of North Carolina. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Baptist Church; she had a passion for helping those in need. She would often volunteer at the local Goodwill and Food banks. She also did floral arrangements for various churches, civic organizations, family and friends.
Addie Mae also had a flair for interior decorating and a green thumb for flowers. She loved celebrating the holidays with her family and friends. She was also a world traveler, Addie and Ray loved to drive cross country, they were able to visit 48 states and various countries.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Pete) and Mattie P. Robinson; brothers, Jimmy Robinson, Jerry W. Robinson, Ervin D. Robinson and Alexander Robinson. She is survived by: her compassionate husband of 53 years, Ray Roberson; two sons, Michael R. Roberson of Durham, North Carolina and Timothy L. Roberson of Angier, North Carolina; stepson, Timothy J. Cooper of Rock Hill, South Carolina; siblings, Robert L. (Barbara) Robinson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Retha M. McKinnon, of St. Pauls, North Carolina, Leonard Robinson, of St. Albans, New York, James (Patricia) Robinson, Lorenza Robinson all of St. Pauls, North Carolina and Robyn Glover McCormick of Clinton, Maryland; three very dedicated sisters-in-love, Geraldine Roberson and Christine R. Taylor of Angier, North Carolina and Marva Roberson of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; one brother-in-love, Willie E. Roberson of Rocky Mount, North Carolina and a host of nieces and nephews.
