Lue Rozier Obituary

Mrs. Lue Bertha Rozier, 95, of St. Pauls NC, peacefully  passed on September 21, 2019.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday,  September 28, 2019 at 11am located at Second Newlight Baptist church, St. Pauls NC.  Viewing and visitation will be held on Friday September 27, 2019 at the McKoy and Sons Mortuary 412 East Armfield Street, St. Pauls NC 28384 from 3pm to 6pm.  Burial will take place at the Boone Cemetery, St. Pauls NC.  Family be receiving family and friends at 1948 Page Lake Road, St. Pauls NC 28384.

On September 2, 1924, Lue Bertha Shaw, the tenth child, was born to John and Quessie Pone Shaw.  On Saturday morning, September 21, 2019 at the age of 95, this child quietly slept away joining her everlasting father.

Lue Bertha was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Joseph R. Rozier, Sr. and this union was blessed with seven children.  One son, Cleveland, preceded her in death.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother; and great-great grandmother.

She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Rex, North Carolina.  In 1955, she joined Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her health declined.  Her faithful and committed services included a Deaconess, member of Choir #2, organized Choir #4, Sunday School Teacher and student; and the Senior Missionary Circle President.

In the Women's Baptist and Foreign Missionary Auxiliary, she served as Special Worker to the Bladen County Churches.

Lue Bertha was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #557 and served as the Treasuer.

She was educated in the Public Schools of Robeson County.  She gained additional job skills through classes at Bladen Technical Institute.

Lue Bertha was employed at Plain View Elementary School for 27 years as a cook.  She retired in June 1990.

She led an active Christian life and was an inspiration to friends and family.  She willingly gave spiritual guidance to everyone she encountered.  She enjoyed singing and continued to sing until she no longer could.

Those left to cherish her memories are: Carolyn Whitted, Vinston (Lynne) Rozier, Joseph (Maxine) Rozier, St. Pauls, NC; Douglas (Sharon) Rozier, Valdosta, GA; Quessie (Leo) Munn, St. Pauls, NC; Veronica Rozier, Quinton, VA; nine grandchildren, Stacy (Catina), Antonia (Heather), Joseph III (Lorany), Douglas Jr. (Demetress), Vinston Jr. (Dekhasta), Markeisha, Miriam (Kelcey), Kimberly, Michael; ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, an adopted granddaughter, Catrenia Johnson; one sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
