Willie Mae Weaks Williams, 76, was born on April 4, 1948, in Robeson County, North Carolina to the late John J. and Sislane Kelly Weaks. On Wednesday, July 3, 2024, Willie Mae transitioned to her eternal rest at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Willie Mae confessed Christ and joined First Baptist Church of Parkton, North Carolina. She attended Robeson County School and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. Willie Mae moved to Washington, D.C. and joined The Baptist Church where she played the piano for the choir for several years. Willie Mae’s passion was playing the piano, singing and photography. One of her favorite songs was “Father Help Your Children.” Willie Mae started working at Geico Insurance Company where she worked many years. She later worked at Greater South East Hospital as a Electrocardiogram Technician where she later retired.
Willie Mae met and married Nolan Williams, their marriage lasted for 43 years while they lived in Washington, D. C. until his untimely death. She later moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina where she resided until her death.
Willie Mae was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Johnny and Thomas Weaks and four sisters, Hattie Jane and Joann Weaks, Jennie Wilkerson and Annie Ruth Butler.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memories: six sisters, Betty Ann Snow of Hyattsville, Maryland, Elizabeth Bennett, Mary Helen Gardner of Parkton, North Carolina, Alberta Murphy (Douglas), Gladys Lee, Deloise Robinson (Elder Ron) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Yvonne Weaks of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina and Eaner Weaks of Columbia, South Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
