Our beloved Willie Bert Martin was born to Nellie McEachern Martin and Lawrence Martin on, September 25, 1948. He attended East Side Schools in St. Pauls, North Carolina. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Willie is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie McEachern Martin; his father, Lawrence Martin; his loving brothers, James Matthew Martin, Rosevelt Martin and Lonnie Lee Martin; four sisters, Maggie Harrell, Mary Nellie Johnson, Ida Stallings and Ruby Rivers; a nephew who was raised as his brother, James Earl Martin.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory: a loving sister, Ada Buie; two brothers, Albert Lee Martin and Sammy Martin of St. Pauls, North Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Bobby Buie and James Johnson; one sister-in-law, Peggy Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Willie was a very loving, kind, gentle and mild-mannered man. He was reserved and meticulous in everything he did. He has left an indelible mark upon the hearts and minds of those he came in contact with; we will cherish his memory for the rest of our lives.
Willie was very industrious, serving in the, United States Army. He also was employed with, Thurston Motor Lines until his health began to decline.
To know him, was to love him. We truly believe he is now with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ forever rejoicing in his presence. We will continue in the legacy he left behind, being loving and being gracious to all, we will continue to carry the torch until we are reunited with him again.
