After a lengthy illness, Virginia heard the call to her heavenly home on August 22, 2025.Virginia's earthly battles are no more, her soul is resting. She was proceeded in death by her four brothers, Eddie, Johnny, Joe and Willie D. Hill, and one sister, Mattie Sutton. She leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, two children Colon Purdie Jr. (Kelly) and Barbara Purdie. Ten grandchildren: Angel Purdie, Rashawn Purdie, Chabree Purdie, Colon "CJ" Purdie III, Aryon Mastin, Aria Mastin, Jasmine Purdie, JeNae Jordan (Hubert), Dominique Willis (Chris), and Clarissa Lewis. Nineteen great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Nashod, Amia, Asia, Ashton, Brylnn, Sehvyn, Jayda, Jordan, JaMeer, JaMauri, Jalia, Kaden, Karter, Brydon, Ian, Noah, Sol-Rae and Indigo. Three sisters: Alice Drake, Martha Hall and Mary Jonah (Felix). A brother -in-law, Roy Purdie Jr., a sister- in-law, Mae Ida Washington, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service is Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church, at 1:00 pm. Visitation is Friday, September 5, 2025 at McKoy and Sons Mortuary at 1:00pm-5:00pm.
