Tiernan Quinnel James Jackson was a vibrant, loving, and loyal son, brother, uncle, and father whose spirit brought joy to everyone around him. Born on June 16, 1993, in Albany, New York, to Pamela Salmon and Otis Jackson, Tiernan lived a life defined by his devotion to family and his unwavering kindness. Tragically, Tiernan passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 14, 2025—just two days before his 32nd birthday. Though his time with us was far too short, the love and laughter he shared will remain with us always. A proud graduate of Albany High School, Tiernan began his education at St. James Institute and continued through Livingston Middle School. Known for his strong work ethic, he often juggled multiple jobs and was always the first to lend a hand. Whether supporting his son, his nieces and nephews, or anyone in need, Tiernan gave generously and without hesitation.
Tiernan had a deep love for basketball, singing, DC comics, and anime movies. His favorite meal—baked ziti—was always something to look forward to. Charismatic and full of energy, Tiernan was truly the life of every gathering. His presence lit up the room, and his good-natured personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Tiernan leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with his siblings: Turquoise Moten, L’Chrishia Moten, Kenny Jackson, Jaivonte (Jahan) Salmon, Montel Whitney, Keana Li Jackson, and Stanley Subi Jackson. Above all, he was a devoted father to his 12-year-old son, Mekhi Jackson, who carries forward his father’s beautiful smile, signature dimples, and gentle spirit.
Tiernan is now reunited with his beloved mother, Pamela (Moten) Salmon, his grandparents Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Effie Chadwick, and his infant daughter Mahlayah. His memory is held dearly by his companion Larissa Oliver; grandmother Geanethel “Grandma Gean” Denard; grandfather Leslie Roy Salmon, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply. Tiernan’s life, though brief, was filled with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. His memory will live on in all our hearts, forever.
