Mrs. Wanda Gayle Weaks, 51 of Tar Heel, NC peacefully passed on Friday, September 11, 2020.  Graveside Service will be Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 am  at Sandy Grove Cemetery, 570 Sandy Grove Road, Lumber Bridge, NC,  Reverend Jeff A. Person, Pastor.  Viewing: Thursday 1:00 - 6:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel..

     Mrs. Wanda Gayle Lane Weaks, daughter of Mr. Hobson Lane, Jr. and the late Mrs. Christiana Lane was born May 27, 1969 in Bladen County, North Carolina.  She gained her Heavenly Wings on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

     Wanda was proceded in death by her mother;: Mrs. Christiana Lane, brother: Reginald Lane and grandparents: Mr. A.J. Grimes, Mrs. Freddie Mae Grimes, Mr. Hobson Lane, Sr. and Mrs. Annie Bell Lane.

     Wanda accepted Christ at an early age and join Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Tar Heel, NC.  She graduated from Tar Heel High School, Tar Heel, NC.  She worked many years as a CNA and drove school buses for the Public Schools of Bladen County.  She attended Bladen Technical Community College and Fayetteville State University.

     Wanda met and married the love of her life, Mr. James Patrick Weaks, Sr. and joined Sandy Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Lumber Bridge, NC where she was a very active member, serving as the Director of Children and a member of the Gospel Choir.  She was a prayer warrior and loved reading the Bible.  She was a very loving person who never met a stranger.  She enjoyed talking to her family and friends.  She was a great planner and would often share in coordinating family functions.  She also enjoyed decorating, traveling, and spending time with her family.

     Wanda leaves to cherish her fondest memories: her loving husband James Patrick Weaks, Sr.; two children: Odera Christina Weaks of Honolulu, Hawaii, James Patrick (PJ) Weaks, Jr., of the home; two step-children: Donovan Knight of Lumberton, NC and Brittany Maynor of Red Springs, NC; three grandchildren: Haidyn and Chaddin Maynor of Red Springs, NC and Donavon Knight, Jr. of Lumberton, NC; father Hobson Lane, Jr., of Tar Heel, NC; Stepmother: Carolyn Lane of Tar Heel, NC; mother-in-law: Yvonne Snow Weaks of Lumber Bridge, NC; father-in-law: Alfonzo (Debra) Patterson of Gray's Creek, NC; one sister: Angela Denise Lane of Tar Heel, NC; three special aunts: Marjorie Carter of Fayetteville, NC, Julia Grimes of Tar Heel, NC and Brenda Snow of Hope Mills, NC; six sisters-in-law: Michele (Jeffrey) Childers of Fayetteville, NC, April (Walter) Sansbury of Warner Robins, GA, Chris Patterson of Fayetteville, NC, Nikki Patterson of Columbia, SC, and Lucinda (Darryl) Cox of Fayetteville and Anita Haggins of Fayetteville, NC; four brothers-in-law: Andre (Destiney) Weaks of Raeford, NC, Thomas Eric (Shanta) Weaks of Houston, TX, Brian Patterson of Fayetteville, NC and Wallace Patterson of Lumberton, NC; three special cousins: Tiffani (Derek) Cain of Apex, NC, and Clarinda Carter of Fayetteville, NC and her very best friend: Vanessa Curtain of Winston Salem, NC.  Wanda leaves a loving legacy of uncles, aunts, nephews, cousins and friends.
