Mrs. Minnie Bell (Burden) Pone

Mrs. Minnie Bell. Pone, 92 of St. Pauls, NC peacefully passed on Thursday, May 6, 2021.  Graveside services will be Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Miller's Chapel Cemetery, St. Pauls, NC.  Viewing: Wednesday 1-6 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.

Minnie Bell Burden Pone was born March 21, 1929 to the late Westly and Callie Burden.  On Friday, May 7, 2021, the Great Almighty God chose one of his best servants to eternal rest.

Minnie was educated at Bladen Central School and furthered her education at an unknown Nursing School in Raleigh, NC where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse.  With her degree, she worked at a Blind School for the blind.  She was employed at Angus Adcox Nursing Home until she retired.

At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Clarks Chapel AME Zion Church.  She later moved her membership to Millers Chapel United Methodist Church and remained a faithful member even during the pandemic, until God called her to glory.  As a devoted Member she served on several committees: Senior Choir, Trustee and Children Ministry.

Minnie was the glue that kept the family together and will be the glue that keeps the memories going.  She provided for her children and loved to help whenever needed.  Her love for her family and extended family will remain in our hearts.  She enjoyed her days spent at "Bladen County Aging and Division Center.  She faithfully waited on that bus to make that trip on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Mother Minnie Pone, the family marriach, leaves to cherish her fond memories: five children, twins, Shirley Humphrey and Sherman Pone of St. Pauls, NC, Clifton Pone of Lumberton, NC, Patricia Whitted of St. Pauls, NC and Gloria Pone of St. Pauls, NC; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She had two special grandchildren that were caregivers and lovely took care of her, Cherille Wright and Cordasia Lewis, four grandchildren preceded her in death.
