Mrs. Katie Bailey, 79 of St. Pauls peacefully passed on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Graveside service will be Saturday, January 9, 2021 ; 2:00 PM at Great Marsh Cemetery, St. Pauls, NC. Viewing: Friday 1:00 - 5:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Katie Bell Bailey was born on February 17, 1941 to the late David and Bertha Jane Caldwell. She departed this life at UNC Chapel Hill on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Katie was raised in St. Pauls, North Carolina. Then moved to New York at an early age. She attended Cedar Grove Baptist Church and Firmly believed in God. She was a member of several organizations at Cedar Grove Baptist Church such as, Singles Club, Missionary Club, Golden Delight, Bible Class and Sunday School Treasurer. Katie worked for many years and retired from Temptataion Hosiery.
Preceding her in death were: her parents, David and Bertha Caldwell; her husband, Albert Bailey; three sisters, Rosa Patterson, Barbara Jo Caldwell and Bertha Wright; two brothers, Lester Caldwell and James Caldwell; and one daughter, Debra Littles.
Those left to cherish her memories are; four daughters, Linda Cromartie (Ricky), Michelle McNeil (Rick), Teneese Caldwell and Tanasia Caldwell; three sons, Vincent Bailey, Albert J. Bailey III and Micai Caldwell (BoBo) of the home; ten grandchildren, Aisha Littles, Kimberly Bailey, Kezshyra Pone, Rickell Jones, Keron Person, John McAllister II,(Jalisa), Keyrelle Cromartie (Victoria), Vincent Bailey, Michael Bailey and NyKeyia Bailey; special grandson, Marcus Littles; five brothers, John Caldwell (Liz) of Deer Park, NY, David Caldwell and Weldon Caldwell (Annie) of St. Pauls, NC, Rodney Caldwell (Romona) of Lanham, MD and Christopher Caldwell-Wright of Hinesville, GA; six sisters, Evelyn Deloach of New Jersey, Gracie Wright of St. Pauls, NC, Linda Caldwell of New York, Brenda Caldwell of St. Pauls, NC, Dorothy Holmes of NY and Rosa Graham (Daniel)of NY; sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
