Mrs. Ida Whitted Parker, 83 of St. Pauls peacefully passed on Friday, March 26, 2021. Graveside service will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Goodman Cemetery, Spring Branch Rd., Tar Heel, NC. Viewing: Thursday 1:00 - 6:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Ida Whitted Parker departed this earthly life on Friday, March 26, 2021, at UNC Southeastern Hospital, Lumberton, NC. Ida was born to the late Frank B. and Mary Esters Whitted on April 15, 1937. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church.
Ida received her education in the Bladen County School System, graduating from Bladen County Training School in 1956. After graduation, she moved to New York. While in New York, she met and married Robert L. Parker in July 1972.
After retiring from the United States postal Service, with more than thirty years. Ida relocated back to North Carolina in June, 2001.
After retuning to North Carolina, Ida reinstated her membership with Second New Light Missionary Baptist Church and became an active member. She loved singing with the Sanctuary Choir. Sher was also involved in the Missionary Department and Bible Study. She served as chairperson of the Floral Ministry and was always ready and willing to order flowers, when asked.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Parker, one sister, Essie M. Whitted; two brothers, Frank J. Whitted and Charles N. Whitted.
Those left to cherish her memories are: one sister, Mamie W. Bell, Fayetteville, NC, two brothers, Ernest Sr. (Virginia) Whitted, Ladson, SC and Alvester "Beck" Whitted, St. Pauls, NC, nieces and nephews, Catrenia, Cynthia, Claudette, Rochelle, Anthony (Carol), Ernest Jr. (Esther), Antonia (Heather), Thurman (Ellen), Gwendolyn, James, Rebecca, Shanique, Reginald (LaShanda), one Godson, Teddy Riggins, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Whitted, St. Pauls, Linda Whitted, Ocala, FL.,Macietta P. Nelson, Fontana, CA, Armentha Duncan, Chesapeake, VA, Wilma Parker, Vidalia, LA, Great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
