Mr. Nezer H. Mack, Sr.

Mr. Nezer H. Mack, Sr., 94 of St. Pauls, NC peacefully passed on Monday, November 16, 2020.  Graveside services will be Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 1:00 pm in McGill Cemetery, 21340 Gilchrist St., Wagram, NC (Turn off 401 to Center St.).  Viewing is Friday 1:00 - 6:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel..

NEZER H. MACK, son of the late Robert Mack and the late Georginianna Mack, was born on August 8, 1926, in Raeford, N.C.  He entered into the light and joy of his Lord on Monday, November 16, 2020, joining his sons Garvester Mack and Willie Mack (Bonnie); Pervis Mack (grandson) and Breann Nicholson (great granddaughter).

Nezer met, fell in love with and married on Fedruary 18, 1945, Essie Mae McNair.  Nezer had eight children: Mary Jones (Anthony Jones), Robert (Bobby) Mack, Nezer Mack, Jr., John Mack, Dortha (Dot) Mack and Venus Speight (Joseph Chaisson); 20 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, family and friends.

Nezer was a loving husband and father.  He was educated by his mother, who was a college graduate and teacher.  Nezer would often take delight in showing how well he could calculate numbers without a calculator.  Nezer  worked much of his young adult life as a farmer, and retired from Burlington after 24 years, in 1991.

Nezer was baptized at an early age in a river in South Carolina.  He was a member of First Baptist in St. Pauls, NC and was a dedicated Free Mason for about 60+ years.  Nezer loved baseball - watching it, coaching youth and cheering for the Braves.  He loved to hunt, play spades, play checkers, talk trash about winning checkers, watching cowboy shows and laughing.  He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories. 

Left to cherish precious memories of his life are: his wife and children; sister, Lilly Hendricks, grandchildren, Antoinette Jones, Anthony Jones, Jr. Terence Jones, Renee Harrell, Antonio Harrell, Michael Harrell, Yvette Moore, Michelle Davis, Monica Cooper, Maranda Cooper, Twyla Vanessa Metha, Nyshell Mack, Trellis Mack, Yulonda Smith, Crystal Watson, Eric Speight, Tomeka LaRue, Wilton Mack, Aquila Mack and Jaylen Mack; and a slew of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
