Mr. Lee Gusta Stephens was born on April 17, 1937, to the late Archie Lester Stephens and late Carrie Bell Stephens in Robeson County. He peacefully transitioned to his Heavenly home on Friday March 7, 2025, at Woodhaven Nursing Facility.
Mr. Lee accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated his life in 1991. He was an active member of Little Marsh Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church until his health begin to fail. He was a member of the male chorus, mighty men Sunday school class, and a trustee. You could see him on Sunday mornings shouting and giving God all the praise. Mr. Lee did construction work, drove for NAPA auto parts, and he also enjoyed washing cars.
Mr. Lee was preceded in death by eight siblings Mackel, Billy Sr. Marshall, Lester Jr., Shirley, Alice, Genis, and Queen. He leaves to forever cherish his memories; his loving wife of thirty-three years, Annie Laura Stephens of the home; two children, Micheal (Alfreda) Bazemore and Faye Bazemore of Suffolk,Virginia; three bonus children, Kim Emanuel of Columbus, Mississippi, Jason and Darosh Wimbush of St. Pauls, North Carolina; twenty-eight grandchildren, (five of whom he raised)Yasmine, Antonio, Antwan, Michelle, and Mikel; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Pam Carter and Vicky Bridges; two brothers, Delane and David Earl Stephens; two brothers-in-law, Richmond Franklin and Charles McNeill; one sister-in-law, Peggy McMillan; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
