On the morning of Sunday, February 2, 2020, God called our beloved mother, God called our beloved mother, Geneva C. Ray home to rest.
Geneva was born July 2, 1934 in Saddletree, North Carolina to the James Campbell and the late Icelee Campbell. She accepted Christ at a young age and grew up in Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
After finishing high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Jesse A. Ray on July 30th, 1956. Jesse preceded her in death, on August 07, 1994. From that union, they had three children. The late Ricky Ray, Wanda Ray of St. Pauls, NC, and Cynthia Burden (Waders) of Fayetteville, NC.
She joined and was a faithful member of Little Marsh Chapel AME Zion church where she served on the usher board and various choirs. Geneva retired from Burlington Mills, after 30 years of service to rest and spend time enjoying her grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Wanda Ray and Cynthia Burden; 8 grandchildren, Lamont Ray (who preceded her in death), Eboni Simmons, Monique Ray, Lawanda Woods (William), Latoya Simmons, Samuel Faulk, Thomas Faulk, Kevin Ray, and Jesse Burden; and sister, Helen Glover; and a host of other relatives and friends.
