Mr. Alvester “Beck” Whitted was born in Bladen County North Carolina on February 1, 1948 to the late Mr. Frank B. and Mrs. Mary Esters Whitted. He departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his son James PeeWee “Snow Dogg” Snow and his siblings Ida, Frank, Ernest, and Charles.
Beck attended Bladen Central High School in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. He then served in the United States Army as a paratrooper then transitioned to a bomb technician while serving a tour in Germany. After his military service, he received his CDL and spent time as a long-haul truck driver. Later he established his own business -- W & W Concrete.
His memories will forever be cherished by his daughters Rebecca McNair (Jamari) of St. Pauls, NC and Shanique McNair of St. Pauls, NC.. His loving sister Mrs. Mamie W. Bell of Fayetteville NC with whom he spoke daily. Six grandchildren – Twanna, Tevin, Shiron, Ja’Marcus, Ja’Marion, Ja’Myra. Four great-grandchildren – Dayion, Erin, Xander, and Kane. A sister-in-law Carolyn Whitted of St. Pauls, NC. Three special nieces Cynthia. Claudette, and Rochelle and a host of other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
