Georgia Mae Currie was born in Robeson County North Carolina to the late George Freeman and Vera McMillan Currie on March 26, 1939. She departed this life quietly on April 15, 2019 at Lumberton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Georgia confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After attending the Eastside High School, Georgia relocated to New York where she worked as a Jewelry Cleaner and Home Health Aid until she retired.
Georgia was preceded in death by one sister, Rosa V. Fennell and two brothers, David Currie and George R. Currie.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a son Leewavely Currie (Lurina) of Clarkton, NC, a daughter, Wanda Currie of the home, Two brothers, Willie Currie of Wilson, NC, Alvin Currie (Mocey) of St. Pauls, NC. Six sisters: Shirley Quick of Cameron, NC, Nettie Currie of St. Pauls, NC, Lee Gretta Andrews (Frank) of Council, NC, Sarah McMillan who provided compassionate care for her during her illness of St. Pauls, NC, Ida McEachern of Neward, NJ, Shelia Clark (Ricky) of Lumberton, NC, One Aunt Minnie Gaddy of St. Pauls, NC and one loving Goddaughter, Reverend Amanda Pone, 8 Grandchildren, 14 Great grandchildren, 11 Great-Great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
